Paul Johnson Workshop

On Saturday 7th September 12 guild members and two guests participated in a pop-up book workshop with 'paper-engineer and educator' Paul Johnson an extremely well organised and generous tutor. Everything needed was available, instructions clear and everyone had a Gazebo at the end of a tiring but thoroughly enjoyable day. See the pictures in the slide show to the left; hopefully decorated gazebo's may turn up at the AGM? Participants have all asked for a follow up workshop for a 'Thai Palace' - watch this space.

September meeting

On 5th September Ingrid Karlsson Kemp gave a lovely talk about her work in 'Stories and stitching' reminiscing about childhood, inspirations and journeys in her work. After a few IT blips and lessons learnt, as Ingrid pointed out, we actually started on time! Ingrid uses mixed media to produce pictures with a narrative, weaving words through the images. Often family related the subjects are always close to her heart.
